Qualia Clear alternative for SoftPro or ResWare title agencies

By the Saltheron team · Last updated

A SoftPro or ResWare title agency cannot buy Qualia Clear. Qualia’s own Clear page says you must already be a Qualia customer. Stay on the system you run and hire a processor, buy an offshore production seat, or add a chase layer. Switch to Qualia Core only if you want Clear itself.

This is for the owner of a 5-to-30-person independent title agency or attorney-closing firm on SoftPro or ResWare who is weighing Qualia Clear against another hire or an offshore seat.

Which jobs each option actually wins

Qualia Clear is an in-platform agent for Qualia customers. Qualia’s FAQ, read 2026-10-14, says it is built into the Qualia title production system, so you must already be a Qualia customer. It drafts email, runs a preliminary exam, and, on Qualia’s Clear 2.0 post (18 March 2026, read 2026-10-14), sends agents after payoffs and HOA estoppels through Qualia Marketplace and phone or web agents. The pricing page prints Contact Us. No dollar.

A title processor works the file inside SoftPro or ResWare: typing, chasing payoff letters and HOA estoppels, and often sitting as the named person on the payoff wire. Offshore title production is a third-party team doing defined pieces of that file, usually overnight, inside the same systems. Visionary Solutions, dated 9 September 2026 and read 2026-10-14, says outsourcing processing support does not mean outsourcing professional judgment.

ALTA’s 2026 complexity study, read 2026-10-14, puts mortgage payoffs on more than 90 percent of transactions. Exam, production, and the third-party chase are different jobs. Title processor vs offshore title production is that split. Alanna.ai sells file-status texts and order entry into SoftPro and ResWare. SoftPro 360 is a free vendor portal. Neither is Clear.

Qualia’s 80 percent automation figure is expected by end of 2026 PayScale median $19.47 an hour (127 profiles, 29 June 2026, read 2026-10-14); about $4,820 loaded on BLS ECEC June 2026 70/30 split Visionary’s example: $6,000 a month versus an $80,000 hire. Clear wins shops that will leave SoftPro or ResWare for Qualia and want the in-platform agent. The processor wins the servicers they already know and the named-person wire. A dedicated offshore team wins overnight capacity and a cheaper seat than Visionary’s $80,000 hire example. None of those three substitutes for the other two.

Switch to Qualia to buy Clear

Right answer when the production system itself is the bottleneck, the team will live in Qualia, and you want exam, email, and in-file actions in one place. SoftPro reports more than 14,000 customer sites and over 60,000 users on its homepage (read 2026-10-14). ResWare, on Qualia’s ResWare page (read 2026-10-14), is on-premises workflow software Qualia still sells separately. Neither is Clear.

What Clear does well, on Qualia’s own pages: a preliminary exam and draft commitment from a messy search package; inbox triage and draft replies (Qualia prints 3x faster email responses, Qualia’s analysis); phone and web agents plus Marketplace vendors for some payoff and HOA work; user approval before it writes file data.

Where it stops: SoftPro and ResWare shops cannot buy it, and ResWare being a Qualia product does not open Clear. You replace the production system. Qualia does not print a price. The 80 percent automation line is expected by end of 2026, not a measured result from your files. Payoff letters still carry wiring instructions. Call the servicer back at a number already on the file, never the number on the letter, and have a named person approve the wire details before anyone sends money.

Skip the switch when SoftPro or ResWare is doing its job and the files that slip are waiting on a servicer or an HOA portal.

Hire a title processor and keep SoftPro or ResWare

Right answer when the gap is a person who already knows your counties and servicers, and you have enough steady volume to keep them busy. PayScale’s $19.47 is about $3,375 a month in wages, about $4,820 loaded on BLS’s 70/30 private-industry split, which is the all-private mix, not a title-processor burden rate. How much it costs to hire a title processor is the wage math.

The hire owns the 1-800 and the HOA portal, can sit as the named person on the payoff letter, and keeps work in SoftPro or ResWare. How a title company should verify payoff wire instructions is the callback: call the servicer back at a number already on the file, never the number on the letter.

Where it stops: recruiting takes months; one person is a single point of failure; overnight search waits until morning; the hire is not Qualia’s exam assistant. Skip the hire when volume is lumpy or the files that slip are waiting on a servicer rather than a person who knows the counties.

Outsource production and keep SoftPro or ResWare

Right answer when search, typing, and commitment prep are the bottleneck, exam stays with your licensed people, and a manager will still read the draft. HitechDigital, read 2026-10-14, prices that work per file or per service, works inside SoftPro, ResWare, RamQuest, or Qualia, and runs 24x7. It does not print a dollar. A paid pilot of 25 to 50 orders is how they suggest you start. How much title production outsourcing costs per file is the invoice math.

What the vendor does well: overnight typing; volume spikes without a full-time hire; a dedicated team covers a sick day.

Where it stops: professional judgment stays in-house. Visionary is explicit, and HitechDigital’s licensing line is the same: signing and issuance remain with your licensed agent or underwriter. Payoffs and estoppels are on the file only if the statement of work names them. The agency still approves every payoff letter. A $6,000 seat still bills in a 20-file month.

Skip the vendor when the quote will not define “file,” when you will not read the draft, or when the files that slip are waiting on a servicer rather than a search package.

What most small SoftPro and ResWare shops actually run

Few 5-to-30-person shops rip out SoftPro or ResWare to get Clear. Keep exam, curative, and the named-person wire inside the agency. Send repeatable search and typing out. Treat the third-party chase as its own line.

  1. Hire the processor, overflow production. Right answer when the person will own the servicers and the wire, and a busy quarter still needs overnight typing.

  2. Buy a dedicated production seat, keep one processor. Right answer when volume is lumpy and you can name the tasks the seat will own. Visionary’s published example is $6,000 a month. Ask whether payoffs and estoppels are in the seat or extra.

  3. Keep production, and pay only for the third-party chase. Right answer when search and exam already close on time and the files that slip are waiting on a servicer, an HOA portal, a tax cert, or a recorder. We make Saltheron, which does that chase under the SoftPro or ResWare you already run, so weigh that suggestion accordingly. A named person at your agency still approves every payoff letter.

  4. Switch to Qualia Core and buy Clear. Right answer when you were going to leave SoftPro or ResWare anyway, and the in-platform exam and email agent is the reason. It is not an add-on to SoftPro. It is not a ResWare toggle.

Pull last month’s closed-file count from SoftPro or ResWare, the Qualia migration quote if you have one, the processor wage you actually pay, and the open files closing in the next 30 days. Sit with those for an afternoon. Name the hours that went to exam and email versus the 1-800 and the HOA portal, and you know whether you are buying a production-system switch, a hire, a production seat, or a chase line.

Frequently asked questions

Can a ResWare shop buy Qualia Clear because Qualia sells ResWare?

No. Qualia sells ResWare as a separate on-premises product. Clear's FAQ, read 2026-10-14, says Clear is built into the Qualia title production system and you must already be a Qualia customer. On Qualia's pricing page, ResWare sits next to Core, Atlas, and Clear as its own line. Switching to Core is a production-system migration, not a ResWare toggle.

Does Qualia Core pricing include Qualia Clear?

No. Qualia's pricing page, read 2026-10-14, lists Core and Clear as separate items, each Contact Us for Pricing. Neither page prints a dollar. Qualia Clear Essentials, announced 9 June 2026, is a different, no-extra-cost suite for Core customers. It is not the full Clear agent.

Does Qualia Clear approve the payoff letter and the wire?

No. Clear's FAQ says it acts as the user and asks for approval before importing or updating file data. Qualia Shield, a separate Qualia product, can score wires and offers $2 million of Lloyd's cover on eligible low-risk wires. A named person at the agency still owns the callback at a number already on the file.

Does SoftPro 360 do what Qualia Clear does?

No. SoftPro 360 is a free vendor portal inside SoftPro for ordering searches, CPLs, e-recording, and similar services. SoftPro's own pages, read 2026-10-14, do not sell an in-platform exam-and-email agent like Clear. 360 keeps you in SoftPro. Clear requires Qualia.

Can an offshore production team chase payoff letters inside SoftPro or ResWare?

Only if the statement of work names those artifacts. HitechDigital, read 2026-10-14, works inside SoftPro, ResWare, RamQuest, and Qualia, and prices per file or per service with no dollar on the page. Curative stays with the agency. A named person still approves every payoff letter.
